SHANGHAI, Apr 28, 2012 -GEFORCE LAN/NVIDIA Game Festival 2012 — NVIDIA today announced the GeForce(R) GTX 690, the world’s fastest consumer graphics card(1) — with a bold industrial design to match.

Powered by dual Kepler(TM) architecture-based GeForce GPUs, the GTX 690 is meticulously designed — inside and out — to deliver the most refined, elegant and smooth PC gaming experience possible.

The surprise announcement was made by NVIDIA CEO and co-founder Jen-Hsun Huang during his keynote address at the NVIDIA Game Festival in Shanghai, which is being attended by more than 6,000 gamers from across China.

Engineered to reach a new threshold in gaming performance, the GTX 690 also looks the part. Its array of innovative technologies is complemented by sleek materials that contribute to the exotic design of the card, including:

– An exterior frame made from trivalent chromium-plated aluminum,
providing excellent strength and durability
– A fan housing made from a thixomolded magnesium alloy, which offers
excellent heat dissipation and vibration dampening
– High-efficiency power delivery with less resistance, lower power and
less heat generated using a 10-phase, heavy-duty power supply with a
10-layer, two-ounce copper printed circuit board
– Efficient cooling using dual vapor chambers, a nickel-plated finstack
and center-mounted axial fan with optimized fin pitch and air entry
angles
– Low-profile components and ducted baseplate channels for unobstructed
airflow, minimizing turbulence and improving acoustic quality

The GTX 690 is powered by a total of 3,072 NVIDIA CUDA(R) cores, all working to deliver awesome gaming performance for ultimate gaming setups. Designed for the discriminating gamer and ultra-high-resolution, multimonitor NVIDIA Surround(TM) configurations, the GTX 690 delivers close to double the frame rates of the closest single GPU product, the GTX 680. Plus, it is more power efficient and quieter when compared to systems equipped with two GTX 680 cards(2) running in NVIDIA SLI(R) configuration.

In the Heaven benchmark, with 4xAA/16xAF settings, GTX 690 scored 58.9 fps while the GTX 680 scored 31.1 fps. For Crysis 2 Ultra, the GTX 690 scored 57.8 fps while the GTX 680 scored 32.3 fps. In Dirt 3, with 8xAA/16xAF, the GTX 690 scored 111.2 fps, while the GTX 680 scored 62.3 fps. For performance, a higher number is better.

As a result of the stunning, built-in visual performance, all the things people love to do on their PCs — from creating and editing videos and photos, surfing the Web, watching HD movies or playing mainstream games — are quicker, crisper and more life-like. “Tick-Plus” – The Intel Advantage

The performance gains found in the new processors are due in part to the groundbreaking, three-dimensional structure of the new Intel transistors. Until today, computers, servers and other devices have used only two-dimensional planar transistors. Adding a third dimension to transistors allows Intel to increase transistor density and put more capabilities into every square millimeter of these new processors. Intel has once again re-invented the transistor and delivered an unprecedented combination of performance and energy efficiency, thus sustaining the pace of technology advancement and fueling Moore’s Law for years to come.

Intel engineers also reworked the graphics architecture of the 3rd generation Intel Core processors, helping to deliver dramatic improvements in the overall visual experience. Changing the chips’ architecture while at the same time shrinking the size of the underlying transistors is an acceleration of Intel’s “tick-tock” model. Previously, the company adhered to a strict “tick-tock” model in which a new manufacturing process was introduced in 1 year (the “tick”), and the architecture of the chip (the “tock”) was altered the next. The ability to accelerate the roadmap and change both the chips’ architecture and the manufacturing process at the same time was made possible because Intel is one of the few companies that both designs and manufactures its chips, a method called Integrated Device Manufacturing.

The 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processor with Intel® HD Graphics 4000 delivers up to two times better 3-D graphics performance compared to the previous-generation processor, bringing more gaming fun with richer detail at higher resolutions. Intel® HD Graphics 4000 supports Microsoft* DirectX 11, OpenGL 3.1 and OpenCL 1.1.

With Intel® Quick Sync Video 2.0 technology built into the new processors, people can convert their videos up to two times faster than even last year’s processors and up to 23 times faster than PCs just three years old.

Experiences, Secured. Platform, Enhanced.

The 3rd generation Intel Core processor also adds security features, including Intel® Secure Key and Intel® OS Guard to safeguard personal data and identity. Intel Secure Key consists of a digital random number generator that creates truly random numbers to strengthen encryption algorithms. Intel OS Guard helps defend against privilege escalation attacks where a hacker remotely takes over another person’s system. These two features join existing platform security features such as Intel® Identity Protection Technology (Intel® IPT) and Intel® Anti-Theft technology (Intel® AT) to help make Intel platforms some of the most secure in the

industry. When paired with the Intel® Series 7 Chipset, the new processors with Intel IPT can make a portion of the screen unreadable to spyware with the “protected transaction display” feature, helping prevent a hacker from obtaining login credentials that could lead to identity theft.

Platforms based on 3rd generation Intel Core processors also deliver faster data transfer capabilities made possible by USB 3.0 integrated into the Series 7 Platform Controller Hub (PCH) and PCI Express 3.0 integrated into the processor. These next-generation I/O technologies bring bigger data pipes to the platform to keep data moving, minimizing any interruption to the PC experience.

Processor and System Availability

Systems based on quad-core 3rd generation Intel Core processor products will be available beginning this month from leading system makers. M1 Ltd enters Singapore IPTV market with 1box, bringing an array of compelling content and services to the TV screens of M1 Home Broadband customers

SINGAPORE, 11 November 2010 – An exciting new channel for home infotainment is now available with the launch of 1box by M1 tomorrow. Internet, movies, celebrity concerts, exciting games and fun learning modules will be available via high-speed broadband from this multimedia device. 1box will bring the World Wide Web and an array of compelling content and services to the TV screens of M1 Home Broadband customers.

1box is offered as a value-added service with a lifestyle and entertainment focus for M1’s Fibre, Cable and ADSL Home Broadband customers. It is a simple to use plug-and-play device that connects to the HDMI slot of high definition television sets (HDTV) and rides on M1’s advanced Home Broadband network. Customers can lean back and enjoy the exciting suite of services on television via 1box with a remote control or a wireless keyboard and mouse.

1box offers customers the pleasure of accessing the Internet on TV, including streaming videos on popular websites such as Sesame Street, YouTube, Clicknetwork.tv and Discovery Channel and staying in touch with family and friends on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

By connecting their external media storage to 1box via the USB port, customers can also share their personal videos, music or photos with family and friends on television.

1box will be offered to customers on a monthly rental of $5 for 50 Mbps and above fibre

There will be four main categories of content services that will be offered to customers: Education, Music, Movies and Games. Customers can subscribe to the content services on a monthly subscription basis while content such as movies will be charged on a pay-per-view basis. Results for nine months ended 30 September 2010

Service revenue up 4.9%, net profit up 5.7%

SINGAPORE, 18 October 2010 – M1 Limited (M1) today announced its unaudited group financial results for the nine months ended 30 September 2010. Net profit after tax increased 5.7% to S$119.6 million year on year.

Operating revenue at S$717.8 million rose 27.0% year on year due to higher service revenue and handset sales. Service revenue grew 4.9% to S$546.0 million, benefiting from growth in both postpaid and prepaid mobile customers, as well as contribution from fixed services. EBITDA at S$235.9 million was up 2.4%.

Revenue from non-voice services rose by 5.9% points to make up 31.5% of service revenue, driven by continual growth in the mobile broadband and smart phone customer base.

M1 added 43,000 new customers in the third quarter, comprising 22,000 postpaid customers and 21,000 prepaid customers. Total customer base was 1.892 million as at 30 September 2010.

Ms Karen Kooi, M1’s Chief Executive Officer, said : “With the commercial launch of the new fibre network on 1 September 2010, M1 was the first to provide ultra high-speed broadband services to customers on this network. This represents a major milestone as we continue to grow our fixed-line business. Both retail and corporate customers can now enjoy a whole suite of next generation fixed-line solutions from M1 at highly attractive prices, and supported by our unrivalled customer care.”

“Based on the current outlook, we are maintaining our guidance that net profit after tax for 2010 is likely to improve year on year,” she said.

First public demonstrations of Intel’s next-generation Xeon™ server platforms, for both dual and multi-processing servers.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 13, 2010 – Intel Corporation revealed today several significant design features for the company’s 2011 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ processor family at the Intel Developer Forum. The new and enhanced features will further extend Intel’s chip performance and battery life leadership, and add a number of visually related features built right into the chips.

Codenamed “Sandy Bridge,” the chips will be based on Intel’s first new “visibly smart” microarchitecture produced on the company’s cutting-edge manufacturing factories, or “fabs,” at 32-nanometer (nm is a billionth of a meter) process technology with second- generation high-k metal gate transistors.

“The way people and businesses are using computers is evolving at an explosive rate, fueling demand for an even more powerful and visually appealing experience,” said Dadi Perlmutter, executive vice president and general manager of the Intel Architecture Group. “Our upcoming 2nd Generation Intel Core processor family represents the biggest advance in computing performance and capabilities over any previous generation. In addition to offering these features inside Intel-based laptops, we plan to scale these advances across our server data center and embedded computing product portfolio.”

The processor family will include a new “ring” architecture that allows the built-in processor graphics engine to share resources such as cache, or a memory reservoir, with the processor’s core to increase a device’s computing and graphics performance while maintaining energy efficiency.

The 2nd Generation Intel Core processor also includes an enhanced version of Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. This feature automatically shifts or reallocates processor cores and processor graphics resources to accelerate performance, tailoring a workload to give users an immediate performance boost when needed.

Laptops and PCs powered by the 2nd Generation Intel Core processor family are expected to be available early next year.

New Visual Experience – Visibly Smart
Intel’s new processor graphics delivers enhanced visual features focused on the areas where most users are computing today: HD video, 3-D, mainstream gaming, multi-tasking and online socializing and multimedia.

To obtain and view video faster, Perlmutter demonstrated hardware accelerated video editing using the architecture’s dedicated silicon for media processing, which allows users to quickly convert video to other formats.

The 2011 chips also come with Intel Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX). AVX delivers improved performance, rich functionality and the ability to better manage, rearrange and sort data. A new 256-bit instruction set accelerates floating point intensive applications such as digital photo editing and content creation.

Intel also demonstrated a dual processor, next-generation Intel® Xeon® processor server running Vidyo* video conferencing software that utilizes the 32 threads available on the system, and takes advantage of the AES New Instructions set (AESNI). Next-generation Xeon™ processors for 2 socket servers and workstations run 8 cores and 16 threads per processor and are on schedule for production in the second half of 2011.

M1 launches Singapore’s first remote technical
support service for computers and smartphones

SINGAPORE, 11 August 2010 – M1 will offer Singapore’s first remote technical support service for personal computers and smart phones via a new service called mFix from tomorrow.
With mFix, M1 customers will be able to optimise the performance of their PCs and smart phones in the comfort of their homes and offices just by dialing the M1 customer service hotline at 1663. Software installation, set-up and various support services including malware and virus removal will be available through mFix.
Once the customer calls the hotline, an agent will connect remotely to the customer’s computer or smartphone via an Internet connection. The customer can then leave his computer or smartphone unattended while it is being remotely serviced.
M1 will offer customers a suite of five services, offered individually or as part of a subscription plan :

o PC optimisation, such as cleaning up disk, rearranging data or removing temp files, to enable the PC to run faster and more efficiently;
o PC diagnostics, which include a full assessment of hardware and software;
o Malware and virus removal;
o Software installation; and
o Remote smartphone support, which includes e-mail configuration, Internet tethering, and data backup.

Privacy and data security will not be compromised as files and documents kept in the computers and smartphones will not be affected or accessed during the remote service. Connection between the customer’s device and M1’s remote agent throughout the session is protected with a 256-bits SSL encryption.
