Yes, dummies like Stephen Fry and Richard Dawkins and Douglas Adams. So obviously the intellectual inferior of these great Singaporean mind. There's no doubt that he is one of the 1-2% of geniuses is there? What an insightful and damning critique. No coming back from that one. And his social skills, he really knows how to charm. Complete genius.

Mr Yeo was being honest. Many people think the same way except they don't say it. Just look at the facts, Steve Jobs is an ego maniac and intentionally cripples the Ipod Touch so it won't compete with the Iphone and then creates Ipad with so much hype that idiots are actually buying it when they would be much better served with a netbook or a laptop. Now the same idiots who bought Iphone are lining up like homeless people outside stores for hours to buy an upgrade to their iphone...this is so pathetic. The world is in recession, people are having a hard time paying bills and these lemmings have nothing else to do buy wait in line for a newer version of the iphone.

In the USA, the Iphone is tied to ATT which everyone (including Apple fanatics) claim is a crappy network and there is absolutely no reason why ATT should lock the phone even after you have been a customer for 2 years...so you don't really own the phone..Apple and ATT owns the phones. They dictate what apps you can download and which carrier you can choose.

I think most Apple fans will love living in China where they will be told what to do.

Opinion on Philip Yeo's dummy comments

I own an iPad and I love the Apps that are available on the App Store. Yes, the developers are laughing their way to the bank, and to an extend, Apple too. If the Apps are great, why not buy them? Aren't we supporting technology and creativity? Isn't this an industry for and of the future? For Mr Yeo to pass an opinion of Apple App fans as such is so embarrassing. He was the director at AStar for heaven's sake.

From the iTouch, the iPhone and currently the iPad, I have seen and used Apps that simply just amazes me; be it games, educational games or utilities. Stephen Fry wrote a review on the iPad and I subscribe to his opinions; you need to use it in order to 'believe' it; dummies or not, trust me you will.

Apple revolutionalised the way we work with the introduction of Mac in 1984 -- easy-to-use computers. With iPhones and ipads, and I suppose there will be more to come, Apple has also changed the way we live. Steve has foresight and business acumen. What has Philip got? For a chairman of spring, he must be more careful with his words. Can someone tell him to shut up!

I've checked several dictionaries and the meaning of "dummy" given in some of them is "foolish" or "stupid". Can someone tell me the difference between an "idiot" or "a stupid or foolish" person? I don't need any reply on the syntax or semantics of the word "dummies". Just tell me the difference in the meaning between "dummy" and "stupid/foolish" will do. Txs.

Well, I own an iPhone and I did a lot of research before making the purchase. I don't pay any apps so far as most of the useful apps that keeps me updated like news, videos, are all free.

IPhone is the most user friendly phone I have ever used for the past years and of course you pay a premium for it.

So the remark about Apple users are dummies is totally unfounded. He should have phrase it in a better way.

No matter what, he has 'offended' the apple fans not only in Singapore but America and Europe. If it is so simple to make a ipad or an iphone, why didn't he come out with something more superior and make it an international brand. Perhaps he could start with an Android, at least can save up on development costs.
