The Huawei P8 comes in a full metal frame and a 6.4mm thick body. It comes with a special nano coating which makes the phone splash proof guarding it against accidental damage.

The P8 has a larger 5.2″ IPS screen and a narrow bezel which makes it easier to hold.

Huawei introduced a unique new way to interact with the touchscreen – using your knuckles to crop a part of the screen to grab a screenshot.

The highlight was on the camera function. The P8 uses a 4 subpixels – Red, Green, Blue and White to enhance photo taking in low light. The 13 megapixel camera is equipped with image stabilizer to improve on image quality. It also claimed to have an independent image processor that is of DSLR quality.

As for video, there is a Director mode which allows you to use the 4 different P8 to shoot in different angles of the same scene.

To accomplish this, the P8 comes with a Kirin 935 octa core Cortex A53 processor. It promises a 2.3 days usage regardless of how many apps you have used on it’s 2600mAH battery.

As for connectivity, the P8 is equipped with Signal+ which uses two antennas, one on top and one at the bottom. The phone will also auto connects to the best WiFi hotspot with the best signal.

Similar to older flagship models, the P8 comes with 2 SIM slots. The second slot is a MicroSD/nanoSIM dual function slot. Both SIM supports LTE. Two antennas, two SIM slots too. The second slot is a nanoSIM/microSD combo so you can pop in a local card when you travel abroad and use more storage at home. Both SIM cards can use 4G LTE.

The Huawei P8 will be available in two versions, differentiated by storage and color options. The 16GB model is €500, while 64GB costs €100 extra. Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Middle East and South Affrica will be the first to get Huawei’s new flagship.
