ASUS P8P67Pro Intel P67 mainboard review – Introduction

If you have been following our news, you already know the upcoming Intel processors are coming in Jan 2011. Today, we look at the ASUS P8P67Pro ATX board based on the new INTEL P67 Express chipset.

This mainboard is powered by the INTEL P67 chipset for works with the LGA1155 socket CPUs. It has a memory capacity of up to 32GB with 4 DIMM slots. Dual Channel DDR3 memory can be used on board and it supporst up to DDR3-2400 (OC). There are 2 PCIe 2.0 x16 slots (single at x16 or Dual at x8) and 1 x PCIe 2.0 x4 (black in colour). There are 2 ther PCI express 2.0 x1 slots and 2 PCI slots.

In terms of storage, it supports 4 x SATA 6GBps (2 grey and 2 navy blue), 4 SATA 3.0 Gbps (blue) and 2 eSATA 3.0Gb/s (1 Power eSATA). There is one GbE LAN using Intel 82579. There are 2 USB 3.0 at mid board for front panel, 2 USB 3.0 at the back panel and 12 USB 2.0 ports (6 front , 6 back). Embedded on the mainboard is a Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Bluetooth control of your mainboard.

For maximum stability, ASUS uses Dual intelligent processors 2 – DIGI+ VRM.It provides gthe highes power efficiency, generate less heat. The Digital 12+2 power phase design expands the modulation spectrum for improved stability and lower VRM switching noise by dynmically.

There is also a TPU and EPU for turbo boosting and energy saving for your mainboard. ASUS P8P67Pro board now comes with EFI BIOS, allowing a GUI interface to control setup info, overclocking and sytsem settings.
