A few weeks ago, we reviewed the ECS LIVA MiniPC. It’s tiny footprint and flexibility really makes it a good option that require mobility and accessibility. In our review, we did mention some of the cons. The onboard memory also took a while for OS installation.

As it has a USB 3.0 port, we thought it might be able to use an external SSD to speed things up.

ECS LIVA with Kingston HyperX

Well, we did review one of such products before and it is the Kingston HyperX Max 3.0 USB 3 drive. This device came in handy as it pairs well with a high speed USB 3.0 cable and requires no external power connectors.

ECS LIVA is available at Amazon at $152

Kingston HyperX Max 3.0 is probably no longer on sale but there are equivalent products from Kingston. It is the Kingston Digital 120GB SSDNow V300 SATA 3 2.5 (7mm height) Notebook Bundle Kit with Adapter Solid State Drive SV300S3N7A/120G.

The Kingston SV300S3N7A/120G is priced at $74.36 (normal price $214 (Savings $139) (*quoted from Amazon site).
