Kingston LoVo HyperX modules KHX1600C9D3LK2/4GX modules puts to the test

We put the KHX1600C9D3LK2/4GX to the test on a BIOSTAR 890FX mainboard running ASUS EAH 4870X2 graphics card. The CPU used is a Phenom II X4 960T running at 3GHz. In the first scenario, we run the ram at DDR3-1600 C9-9-27-1T @1.35v. Lowering it to CAS 8 isn’t stable at default 1.35v or higher.

We pushed it further by increasing the CPU CLK to 210MHz and we get it stable at DDR3-1680 at CAS 9-9-27-1T @ 1.35v.

Both results are compared to a pair of our high end Kingston HyperX modules running at 1.65v DDR3-1600 CAS 6 on the same motherboard. There are some surprises awaiting you on the next page.
