2018 is a year where we see many good camera smartphones. From single to dual rear camera, from 12 MP to 20 MP, you name it you have it. It is not surprising that most of these smartphone uses SONY sensor IMX series and the aperture are getting bigger from F/2.0 and now f/1.75 on some of the more expensive phones.

We have seen for ourselves how Honor 10 performed in night shots. The same can be said for the OnePlus 6, LG G7+ ThinQ, Pixel 2 XL.
Although the four phones take excellent photos in low light, they are on the priced at the high end of the spectrum. The price range is in the in the high USD 500-600.
Today, XIaomi Mi A2 goes on sale and is already available at stores in some countries. Early pictures shows that the quality is on par with the Pixel 2 XL. Believe It or not, here are some pictures from the net that compares the Pixel 2 XL vs Mi A2.
The price of Pixel 2 XL is USD 599 while the Xiaomi Mi A2 is at ~ USD 245 (Based on Malaysia’s RM 999).
OnePlus 6 is priced at USD 595,
LG G7+ThinQ at USD 649.
Will Xiaomi Mi A2 start a price war for a good camera phone. Would you pay more if you can get the job done with a cheaper alternative ?

Seriously, I couldn’t differentiate the two. The Pixel 2 XL looks slightly brighter by a tiny bit. As pictures are compressed online, it is difficult to really see a difference unless you place the original pictures side by side and zoom in for the details.
