iPhone OS 4.0 beta 4 has a new feature to set up internet tethering for AT&T users. The Internet Tethering page alerts users that in order to set up internet tethering, you need to contact AT&T at 611 or visit AT&T’s website.

Internet tethering let you use your mobile phone’s internet on your other devices such as laptops over USB or Bluetooth. Internet tethering was first introduced in iPhone OS 3.0 but AT&T didn’t roll out the feature to avoid increasing stress on their networks.

Now this new message found in iPhone OS 4.0 is a a ray of hope for US customers that AT&T may finally be ready to deliver internet tethering.

iPhone firmware beta is available to registered iPhone developers only. The final iPhone OS 4.0 will be released to masses this Summer.
