Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners will not get an update to KitKat OS (Android 4.4). The reason given by Google is that the device is too old to get an update. This news was released on Google support page and is certainly a disappointing news for Samsung Galaxy Nexus users.

“Galaxy Nexus, which first launched two years ago, falls outside of the 18-month update window when Google and others traditionally update devices,” Google wrote.

KitKat or Android 4.4 is now shipping with Nexus 5 and will also be coming to the recently released Asus-made Nexus 7 and LG’s Nexus 4.

No matter what, there are bound to be custom firmware available for the device.
