SIMBA Fibre Broadband is now available to all households in Singapore. If you’re looking for a no-frills, self-install fibre broadband service, this could be one of the most affordable options at just $29.99 per 30 days (appox $360 for 360 days). Both available plans feature the same pricing, and the ONT and Service Activation fees are waived. Do check your post code on simba website on availability of 2.5 Gbps (upgradable to 10 Gbps) or 10 Gbps.
To fully utilize the high speeds offered, you’ll need to upgrade your equipment. Most current Wi-Fi routers are limited to 1 Gbps, so if you want to take advantage of faster speeds, investing in a Wi-Fi 7 router, along with compatible cables and switches, may be necessary. If you stick with your current equipment, you’ll be capped at a maximum of 1 Gbps due to router limitations. Note that Wi-Fi speeds also depend on the quality of your equipment, and Wi-Fi 6 routers won’t support speeds above 1 Gbps. Ensure that both your router and devices support Wi-Fi 7 to get the most out of your broadband service.
*Existing 2.5 Gbps subscribers can also upgrade to 10 Gbps but details are lacking at this moment.
