Review Conclusion of Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini Pro
Being the smallest Android phone in the market, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini pro does stand out from the crowd. Despite it’s screen limitation, I have to kudos to the UI designers for coming out with such a simple to use phone in a single hand.
Although it doesn’t come with multi touch zoom; a consideration factor for larger screen phones, Sony Ericsson compensate with one finger zoom. Just Long press on the screen of an image and drag your finger, you will be able to zoom in to the picture. Pictures taken using the 5 megapixel camera is pretty good. This is furthur enhanced with the photo/video lighting.
Although it is small but big in features, it also drains the battery just like any android device out there. The battery that came with the package is also only 930mAh which can’t last you for more than 1 day of continuous usage. Of course, if you buy an additional battery or a microUSB charger, that wouldn’t be an issue at all.
The keyboard is pretty small but it is not difficult to type on it. Other than that, the phone seems to have a plastic feel. That is especially for the backplate and the 3 front buttons.
Overall, this phone is very promising. Once the Android 2.1 update is available, more applications will work on this power horse. Do note that, some applications would require certain screen requirements to function. Likewise, web browsing on a small screen isn’t that good for the eyes too unless you zoom in and out to different portions of the page. Personally I would prefer the Xperia X8 which has a larger screen.
We give it our Silver Award.
