Crystal Disk Mark test
Using Crystal Disk Mark, we tested the drive using USB 3 and Thunderbolt. Below are the results.
From both screen shot, we can see that in Sequential Read and Write, Thunderbolt gives a higher score of 260.5 MB/s for READ and 119.2MB/s for WRITE. This is in definitely faster than the USB 3.0s 204.7 MB/s and 149.7MB/s. There is an improvement of 27% for READ. As for Write, the USB 3.0 is better at 149.7MB/s versus 119.2 on Thunderbolt.
In 512K test, the READ is 157.9 MB/s vs 179.9MB/s, Thunderbolt is fast. When it comes to write, USB 3.0 is faster. Thunderbolt gets 56MB/s where USB 3.0 scores 68.8 MB/s.
