The design of the phone looks very clean with a larger sensor with 2 small ones at the backplane of the phone. The only complain would be the weight of the unit and it is rather thick fi you were to compare to other flag ship models from other manufacturers. I think it could be slimmer and lighter.
The back camera takes impressive takes surprising good pictures even in dark environment. One of the photos we took was in a pitch dark environment, the photo turns out as if it was taken in the day. Night photos were very clean with negligible noise. It is a pity that the telephoto is limited to 20X digital zoom.
If you have watched the videos presented earlier in youtube, the videos were taken at Marina Bay and it was already almost dark. Yet, we get a very clean and clear video under such lighting environment.
Although photos and videos turns out clear and bright in darkness, videos taken using steady mode (1080p) seems to exhibits a bit of screen tearing. Perhaps the software algorithm has room for improvement.
In Conclusion, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is an exceptionally device whether you use it for entertainment, photography, videography or as a gaming device. If you are looking for a future proof phone, it will get three Android OS updates with four years of security patch updates. It also supports 5G NSA and SA modes which most telcos will provisioned it to work on thier 5G SA network.
