Apple officially announced the iPhone 4. With a slimmer form factor, the new iPhone 4 is a quarter thinner than the last version and is banded by a stainless steel alloy and encased front and back with a glass made many times harder than plastic, according to Apple.
Somewhat lacking on the previous generation 3G/3GSs, the iPhone 4 now comes with video calling. It also upgraded it’s camera to a 5 megapixel with flash and HD video recording capability. Apple’s iPhone 4 packs the company’s A4 chip, a 1 GHz processor made by Samsung, that is used in the iPad. Also, the iPhone 4 got a new screen, a higher resolution display it calls Retina. Apple’s 3.5-inch Retina display boasts 960 x 640 pixels, or about four times that of the iPhone 3GS.
The iPhone 4 will be available in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Japan by June 24. In the United States phones will be available in black or white for $199 for a 16GB version and $299 for a 32GB version with a two-year service contract with AT&T.
By July’s end, Apple’s phone will be available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. By end of September, the iPhone 4 will be available in 88 countries.
When is Ipad coming to Hong Kong officially? Been waiting for months!!!!!!! Come on Apple !!!! Stop being unfair to Hong Kong every god dam single time.
Great write up. The iPhone is truly amazing and I don’t like being without it. This time last year I had jumped in a pool with my iPhone and it was dead. I had to wait 10 days before I was able to purchasea new one. The phone I had was a cheap go phone. I really love all the games that can be downloaded to the iPhone. The best part about the iPhone to me is the ability to check emails on the fly. Thanks for the information.
Finally iphone 4 comes with a flash! I’ve been using iphone 3 to take pics and those pics really… lousy!!! Now i’m gonna get myself a brand new iphone 4! Thanks for the post anyway 😉 Hope i can get it asap!
