Google just officially unveiled their latest Pixel 11 hardware refresh—consisting of the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold.
With a new Tensor processor, will Pixel 11 be focusing just on it’s NPU and features rather than it’s speed? We check it out at the event.
Here is our breakdown of the key hardware highlights and our real-world impressions.
1. Exterior & Chassis: New Colorways & Smoother Visor Profile
Google has revamped it’s camera bar slightly, it seems wider but most importantly inside, the optics has improved. Other than that, physical appearance didn’t change a lot. Google seems to be focusing on the Canyon colour which I feel it is a big too warm to my liking honestly.

2. Display & Daily Quality-of-Life: Practical Upgrades
Beyond the external finish, several core spec adjustments solve long-standing community feedback:
- 256GB Minimum Storage: Baseline models now start at 256GB out of the box. No more running into capacity bottlenecks after capturing 4K60 video.
- Higher Peak Outdoor Brightness: A welcome improvement for viewing maps and text outdoors under direct noon sun.
- 30+ Hours Battery Rating: The combination of an updated panel and the efficiency profile of the new platform yields a claimed 30+ hours of mixed daily uptime.
3. Camera Module: 120x Super-Res Zoom & Preset “Camera Looks”
Google’s computational photography stack receives a few notable expansions this generation:
- 120x Super-Resolution Zoom: Beyond optical range, super-resolution reconstruction keeps high-contrast edges and distant signage sharp without heavy watercolor artifacting.
- Camera Looks: You can now configure hardware-level color profiles and tone curves prior to capture, bypassing post-processing presets.
- Magic Capture: Background frame-stacking runs automatically to eliminate motion blur on fast-moving subjects. Just turn it on and it auto takes care of the best shots for you.
4. Ambient Hardware Feature: The “HiLight” LED Ring
One of the more unique hardware additions exclusive to the Pixel 11 Pro and Pixel 11 Pro XL is the HiLight module—a micro-LED ambient ring encircling the rear camera flash.
Designed primarily for face-down desk use during meetings:
- Configurable pulse signatures provide visual caller ID for pinned VIP contacts.
- Delivers low-distraction visual status indicators for on-device AI tasks (listening, processing, ready) without waking the main AMOLED panel.
5. Silicon: Google Tensor G6 & On-Device Gemini
Under the hood, the entire family runs on the latest Google Tensor G6 SoC.
While synthetic multi-core benchmarks will follow in our full lab tests, early hands-on testing shows snappy local execution with zero cloud lag when running on-device Gemini tasks. The platform also debuts Rambler, a unified communications layer designed to aggregate incoming messaging feeds and voice calls to reduce multi-app overhead.
This is very useful as it helps to clear out all the uh huh and even your remove your undecided choices (for example ordering chicken rice over duck rice).
There is also Gemini which can help you add your tasks from screen shot to your calendar and planning a trip using landmarks on a photo.
