If you are a non English native speaker, Apple’s iPhone 4S SIRI engine will probably piss you off. Below is a video of a Japanese man testing out the voice recognition engine. It is a total disaster. Check out the video and comment.

  1. Good job Apple, you’ve just pissed off 80% of the world’s population. Too bad Apple didn’t seem to think that localization of speech recognition might be really important. Either that or the speech recognition algorithms are still in development and 4S users are beta testers.

    I wonder how well SIRI works with native English speakers who have strong local accents like the South, New England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, etc.
