This year, we shall see mobile phone manufacturers shifting their focus to dual core processors. With dual core processor, it would be able to handle the more demanding multimedia functionality e.g 3D games and HD video.
Currently, ARM chipset makers Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, Texas Instruments (TI) and Broadcom are ready to secure orders from phone makers. So far, LG and Motorola already unveiled their dual core smartphoens at CES believed to be powered by Nvidia Tegra2. HTC, Samsung Electronics and Nokia are expected to showcase similar models at the upcoming Mobile World Conference (MWC) at Barcelona in Feb.
