Acer joins the ranks of Taiwanese maker HTC and other Android phones with their first Android 1.6 based Acer Liquid. This phone, Acer Liquid is the world’s first Qualcomm Snapdragon™ processor-based and first Android™ 1.6 high definition smartphone. Finished in white with a glossy surface, it blends in well with the design.
The Acer Liquid is feather light weight at 135g and as a dimension of 115mm x 64mm x 12.75mm and has a 3.5″ capactive touch screen WVGA screen. Well, looks doesn’t always tell everything. This phone as mentioned has a powerful snapdragon processor clocked at 768MHz with 1350mAh battery pack. It also has a 5 megapixel camera which takes pretty good features.
In line with the high speed processing power of the processor within, the phone supports HSPA, allowing you to get connected to the internet and upload and download at amazing speed. Although the phone looks very similar to the original Android 1.6 interface, Acer has made some enhancements to the main screen. You can now access yoru multimedia and commonly used web pages on the left most and right most mainpage. In addition, Acer liquid also feature an optimized camera with geo-tagging, ISO, self-timer options and accelerated auto-focus performance. For the multimedia freaks, tune in to Spinlets, this application comes preloaded and provide free streaming of worldwide music and video, that can be shared with friends and family through web-posting or e-mail. The phone also incorporates a smart integration of Facebook™, Twitter™, Youtube™, Picasa™ and Flickr™ in the address book, with real time notification of status or content updates.
Other unique features of the Acer Liquid includes nemoPlayer – a simple-to-use application to enjoy music, video clips and pictures on the move. Exclusive Spinlets™ application provides free streaming of worldwide music and video, that can be shared with friends and family via the web or e-mail and ‘Fooz Creator’ lets you create a “virtual look-a-like”, or your Fooz Avatar, and share it on Facebook®, MySpace and other social networks. You can also email it to your friends.
The Acer Liquid comes preinstalled with Acer Sync, a smart application that allows automatic or manual synchronization with your netbook or notebook so your Google® contacts and calendars are always up to date. Change one and they all change.
Most importantly, the Acer Liquid comes preinstall with Chinese menu interface which is selectable. Various input methods are also available including pinyin, handwriting input, changjie etc.

Hmm.. that’s strange. The one we imported from Taiwan only comes with: Deutsch, English, Espanol, Francais, Italiano… etc. All european countries. No Chinese options. I am looking around for how to install Chinese UI etc, but very difficult.
I saw your video and found out Select Locale “Chinese” on your Liquid E. Is this something that is available by default from Android OS update? Because on my Ferrari Liquid E, it seems that I don’t have Chinese Local option. Any idea?
Yes it comes with it. It is a Singapore version of the phone.
