In celebration of Singapore’s 57th birthday, Google Pay is launching a special in-app game from 1 August to 14 August 2022 to make digital payments more rewarding and fun for Singaporeans this National Day. Building on Google Pay’s popular social game, Huat pals, this new seasonal mini-game, titled Lion City Cake, allows users to win a cashback reward of up to $57 and other special merchant vouchers by simply completing three eligible transactions in the app.

Starting today, Google Pay users will be able to access the Lion City Cake game from the homepage of the app where they can help an otter family decorate a special birthday cake in celebration of Singapore’s 57th birthday.

In completing various different transactions and actions, users can decorate each layer of the cake with icons synonymous with Singapore’s iconic landmarks such as Marina Bay Sands, Changi Airport and the Dragon Playground! These actions include:

  • Sending at least $10 to a friend who is on Google Pay
  • Making a PayNow merchant transaction of at least $3 on Google Pay
  • Making a FavePay merchant transaction of at least $3 on Google Pay

With each of these actions completed, users stand a chance of winning a special voucher from prominent partners such as Deliveroo, Klook, Guardian and Lazada as well as a selection of uniquely Singaporean brands such as FairPrice, Irvin’s, Flash Coffee, Ryde, TADA and KELE. After a user completes all three of these actions, they will win a cashback voucher between $1.57 – $57.

What’s more, Google Pay is also introducing a quiz feature where users will be able to complete a short quiz on Singapore every day. Players can receive one additional voucher every day by partaking in this quiz, and answering at least three out of five questions correctly.

To get started on earning these rewards, download the Google Pay app here, available on both the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
