If you’re among those still holding onto an aging Pixel device, you might be pleasantly surprised today. Google has unexpectedly pushed out a Play System update, dated January 1, 2024, specifically for the Pixel 3a, despite it being an older model that’s no longer officially supported.
But the surprises don’t end there. Upon launching Google Assistant after the update, I was greeted with an intriguing prompt. It asked if I wanted to give Gemini, the new AI assistant, a try. It seems Google is breathing new life into older devices and introducing exciting new features, even for those who thought they were left behind.
