Today, I attended the launch event today and witness the new Intel Core Ultra series 3 powered laptops.
Intel Core Ultra Series 3 (codenamed “Pather Lake,” launched early 2026) processors, built on the Intel 18A node, include high-performance mobile chips featuring Xe3 graphics and up to 16 cores. Known models include the Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 322, 325, 332, 335, along with high-performance X9 388H, 9 386H, X7 368H, and X7 358H models.
Key Features of Series 3 (Panther Lake):
- Architecture: Utilizes Cougar Cove P-cores and Darkmont E-cores, along with new Xe3 GPU cores for up to 120 AI TOPS.
- Performance: Offers up to 50% higher CPU and GPU performance compared to previous generations.
- Efficiency: Designed for high efficiency, targeting AI PC capabilities.
These new laptops are lightweight. They are built on the Intel 18A process technology that achieves good performance and energy efficiency.
Not only is battery life better, it can handle tasks such as playing AAA games and running AI chatbots locally.
In the demonstration, it can achieve a frame rate of 90+ fps using it’s integrated Intel ARC graphics.
The top tier Intel Core Ultra series 3 processors feature up to 18 CPU core, 12 Xe-Cores, delivering up to 60% faster CPU performance and up to 77% faster gaming performance and up to 27 hours of battery life while streaming Netflix.
With it’s new design, it can handle Large Language model locally. Imagine running your own AI tool in privacy and confidentiality without even connected to the internet.
AI supported by a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with up to 50 Trillions of Operations Per Second (TOPS), giving the laptop the specialised processing power needed to handle demanding AI tasks even without an internet connection.
Users can also download INTEL AI Playground that runs on Intel Arc Graphis. AI Playground helps you to explore the latest AI innovations. From creating captivating images or editing photos with just a few words to writing complex research papers in seconds, Intel’s AI playground shows you what is already possible from PCs equipped with Intel Arc Graphics.
Devices powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors from leading PC brands including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI are available now at major electronics retailers, as well as through their official online stores and authorized resellers.
