Conclusion
The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 (DTU30) 64 GB USB 3.0 stick is a very lightweight conveniennt USB 3.0 storage which one can transfer multimedia contents at around 2.5x the speed of USB 2.0.
Although USB 3.0 interface allows faster speed transfers than the mere 80MB/s for read as shown in SiSoftware Sandra 2010 disk benchmark tests, we have to stress that the Kingston DataTraveler is not meant to be a SSD replacement. A OCZ Vertex SSD on a Sunbeamtech USB 3.0 docking station and it is able to achieve higher speeds of 150MB/s.
eSATA sticks are also available in the market. While eSATA is fast, it is not as common on notebooks. Being a USB 3.0 device and it backward compatible makes it a better choice for quick and easy external storage without additional power. At USD 56, it is a good price level for those who require faster data transfers to and from PC/Notebooks.
