News has been circulating that the upcoming Ryzen 7 2700X might be just round the corner. Lately there has been more leaks suggesting that the new Ryzen will boost the base clock and boost clock (thus higher overclocking capability).
According to a chart posted on extremetech, and if it holds true, we should be expecting the Ryzen 7 2700X to clock faster than the Ryzen 7 1800X and boost another 200 MHz in Boost Clock.
If there are true, It is highly possible with good air coolers, 4.3 GHz should be achievable.
While AMD boosts performance in multithread performance, the leader in single thread is still the Core i7-8700K. Will the new Ryzen bring the competition closer.
While AMD is able to challenge in performance and price, overclocking enthusiast will probably know that the Intel is very overclocking friendly as pushing up to 5 GHz is easily achievable. Ryzen 7 1800X was not easy unless you choose to use liquid cooling or LN2.
Will Ryzen 2700X be able to change all these. We definitely hope to see it do. At least, AMD gives us a consistent AM4 socket which can house all series of old and new Ryzen.
The 12nm processors and new X400 chipset series will be launched somewhere in April 2018.
