At the LG Home Entertainment & IT Media Launch 2018 held at the Marina Sands Expo & Convention Centre, LG showcase the latest Alpha 9 image processor with LG OLED W8 TV, 21:9 ultrawide monitors, gaming monitors with 240 Hz refresh rate and 15 inches LG Gram. The LG Gram was also the centre of attraction as it was demonstrated to withstand heavy weights (See video demo).

Impressive noise reduction is the new Alpha 9 processor found in the new LG OLED W8 TVs. Compared side by side, the Alpha 9 does a better job in the enhancement of the picture quality. It also shows more vibrant and natural colours, enhanced with Dolby Vision. For 360 degree cinematic sound, the OLED W8 also comes together with a soundbar equipped with Dolby Atmos.


LG’s SUPER UHD TVs have Nano Cell Display technology, and Full Array Local Dimming for rich, accurate colors and deepest blacks from every viewing angle. The Full Array Local Dimming basically allows the TV to have more control over darkness, so that it can produce pictures that have higher contrast, and appear more vibrant. Most LCD TVs are lit only from the sides, but full-array dimming means that there is a full panel of individual LEDs behind the LCD panel. This gives more precise control over which parts to dim for enhanced contrast, and a more intense picture.

21:9 Ultra Wide monitors

For office productivity or for the hardworking software programmers, the 21:9 UltraWide monitors might come useful. It offers a wider screen resolution compared to conventional screen for multitasking between coding and debugging on the same screen.
