Conclusion
The LG Optimus 7 is a well built phone based on the new Windows Phone 7 OS. It is speedy and responsive. The HUB way of arranging the different aspect of phones also mimic the folders concept on the IOS4.
As this platform is pretty new, a lot of applications are in the midst of being ported over. Some important applications like Skype is missing. It is also ironic that the Live messenger is not written by Microsoft but a third party developer.
Gaming is exceptionally pleasing. The game Need for Speed is very smooth and runs better than the one on my iPhone. That is probably because of the speedier processor within the LG Optimus 7.
For movie enthusiasts, you can stream your mpeg4 directly to your DLNA capable TV sets. You can also stream it over to your Win 7 PC. The LG Optimus 7 does have some simple customisations done to the phone and that includes the LG App store. There are also some pre installed applications on our set tied to a telco.
Although it is almost a perfect phone, it lacks asian text support. The OS does not support Chinese input. There is also no multitasking support. Thus you can only run a single task at one time. Similar to iphone, there is no SD card slot for memory expansion. It comes with 16GB. The camera also needs some firmware adjustments to correct the exposure problem.
Overall, the LG optimus 7 has all the processing power, it just needs more applications and update to it’s OS to increase it’s marketshare.
