LG Electronics (LG) announced today that the anticipated Android 5.1 Lollipop OS upgrade for the LG G Flex2 smartphone has arrived.

The user experience will come to life with the Android 5.1 Lollipop update, and LG G Flex2 users can look forward to a revamped Quick Settings panel. The icons are now animated when tapped on. Users can also easily change between Wifi access points and Bluetooth devices with the dropdown arrows located next to the settings.

The Device Protection in Android 5.1 will also provide enhanced security. If the phone is lost or stolen, without the user’s Google account login details, the next user will not be able to use the LG G Flex2 even after the factory reset button is pressed.

Changes have also been made to the volume slider and interruptions system in the new upgrade. The “None” and “Priority” modes in the interruptions system come with a specific time frame, allowing users to see and decide on the time when the mode will be deactivated, providing an easy solution for an uninterrupted sleep or meeting without having to remember to set it off later. The two modes will also work with Android’s “Downtime” feature now.
