If you are wondering when is 5G network available in Singapore. The good news is that it is now available on M1 in Jurong West area.
A reader send us this information from his Mi 10 Pro 5G smartphone (CN edition). Apparently, the diagnostics detected a 5G signal and the M1 SIM (4G) is able to login into the network.
As you can see from the screen shot below, the signal level is in the mid range of -104 dbM. According to him, he can receive the 5G signal in his room but not in the kitchen. He can also make phone calls 5G data call. It did not drop to 4G.
A speedtest was done but the speed is more like a LTE speed. We suspect that M1 might be experimenting with Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (DSS). With DSS, service providers can tap spectrum currently used for 4G to launch nationwide 5G coverage with a simple network software upgrade
