Maxx is known for it’s cheap $7.90/9.90 plan with abundant 290 GB of shared data roaming for Singapore and Malaysia + 10 GB APAC + 2 GB International.

Maxx also has different plans for it’s retailers. It is sometimes confusing why they have 2 different set of plans for online and retailers.

In fact, these retailer plans might appeal to a larger group of subscribers.

Here is a breakdown of online plans

Retailer’s Plan

Maxx S$12 plan

A new updated plan at S$12 with 500 GB SG-MY-ID shared data + 12 GB APAC Roaming and 2 GB International Roam. There is also a $36 version which is renewed every 90 days, $70 for every 180 days and $138 for 360 days.

Compared to SIMBA SuperRoam 12 plan, Maxx plan gives you more shared data at 500 GB and 12 GB APAC Roaming and 2 GB. SIMBA on the other hand only comes with 300 GB of shared data but has 7 GB of international roam which is more worthwhile for international travellers. SIMBA plans also comes with VoLTE Roaming which maxx lacks (for making free voice calls and IDD calls while overseas without additional charges).

Maxx $15 plan

$15 plan is also updated and now comes with 750 GB of shared data for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. It comes with 12 GB of APAC roaming and 3 GB International Roam. There are variants of it at $42 (90 days), $84 (180 days) and $168 (360 days)

There are no $15 plan on SIMBA. The closest is the SuperRoam 18. Maxx provides more shared data for it’s plan but lose out in terms of international roaming of only 3 GB vs 10 GB on the SIMBA Plan. SIMBA plan as mentioned offers VoLTE Roaming which maxx does not.

So far, only SIMBA and MAXX offer an SG-MY-ID shared data plan, while Eight Telecom has yet to introduce a similar option. If you’re looking for a shared data plan for Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia and frequently travel within this region, the MAXX plan has an advantage, as its S$12 plan provides a larger data allowance. However, if you’re a global traveler who needs roaming data beyond Malaysia and Indonesia, the SIMBA plan would be a better fit.
