SINGAPORE, 29 JUNE 2020 – M1 Limited (M1) today announced the launch of its new mobile plans in line with the Seniors Go Digital programme launched by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

Seniors Go Digital is part of a larger nationwide push from IMDA to accelerate digital adoption in the community. This tailored programme aims to ensure that Singapore’s silver generation receives the necessary assistance to make the digital leap through subsidised resources and a guided learning journey.

As part of this initiative, M1 has collaborated with IMDA to curate two new plans – the Mobile Access for Seniors and Seniors Go Digital mobile plans – to support the seniors and encourage them to take up digital services.

Mr Manjot Singh Mann, Chief Executive Officer, M1, said: “M1 stands for the dream of a fully digitalised Singapore and we are happy to do our part to support this important initiative by IMDA. Our newly-launched plans aim to help bridge the digital divide in Singapore and ensure that our senior community is not left behind as we become an even more connected nation in the aftermath of Covid-19.”

The Seniors Go Digital mobile plan is accessible to all seniors in Singapore aged 60 and above, offering additional mobile benefits over and above the existing M1 Plan with Device and SIM-only Plan. Under this plan, Plan with Device and SIM-only users enjoy 25% off monthly subscription prices and complimentary 3-month access to the streaming services Viu Premium and TVBAnywhere+. Plan with Device users also get a complimentary 3-month FoneCare+ subscription in addition to the above, which offers device care service providing seniors a peace of mind.

The Mobile Access for Seniors plan has been developed for targeted low-income seniors aged 60 years and above and are identified by IMDA as needing support for digital access. Priced at $5 per month, the plan encompasses 6GB data, 100 mins of outgoing calls and 20 SMS, bundled with other services including Caller ID, Data Usage Alert, Mobile Guard and so on.

The Seniors Go Digital mobile plan will be available at M1 shops and through M1’s online store starting on the 24th of July. The Mobile Access for Seniors plan will also be available through M1 Shops on the 17th of July. The Mobile Access for Seniors plan will, in addition, be available through IMDA digital clinics.
