As we use a 2.5 Gbps fibre broadband service, the internet speed is asymmetrical with download at max of 2.5 Gbps download and 1.25 Gbps for upload.
Using the internet speed tab on 192.168.50.1 (there is a equivalent on on the mobile app), a few tests were done against the various local servers listed in the pull down menu.
The download speed ranges from 2100 Mbps to 2131 Mbps while the upload speed averages around 1 Gbps. This is the line speed with ONT connected directly to the WAN port of the ASUS Router.
WIFI 7 test using Xiaomi 14T Pro Smartphone
The smartphone, which supports WiFi 7, is an excellent candidate for this test. It was tested in three different locations, with results recorded for the 5 GHz single band, 6 GHz single band, and 5 GHz + 6 GHz MLO configurations. The test are conducted twice per server (Ookla’s CTCSCI or SIMBA speedtest server).
The smartphone was tested in three locations: next to the router, in the kitchen, and in the study room. Both the kitchen and the study room are 10 meters away from the router and separated by a concrete wall.
From the results, it can be clearly seen that, the 2 servers tested have varying results. The results are summarized in the table below.
