WhatsApp introduced a new desktop app for you to stay connected on your mobile and now also from your desktop. Do away with typing errors due to the small screen as you can now type on the keyboard.

Similar to the WhatsApp Web launched some time ago, the Desktop App is similar in nature. To activate it, you would need to use your smartphone to scan a QR code to synchronise both the PC or MAC with your WhatsApp account on the smartphone.

Once that is done, you can now type on your PC or MAC, send pictures, photos. The only thing is that you can’t use it for Voice calls. As the app runs natively on your desktop, you’ll have support for native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more.

To download the app, visit https://www.whatsapp.com/download from your desktop browser. Then, open the app and scan the QR code using the WhatsApp app on your phone (look for WhatsApp Web menu under Settings).
