As spelt out in the submission to IMDA, SIMBA and M1 has listed it’s commitments :

Following the completion of the proposed consolidation, SIMBA and M1 will continue to operate as separate brands in the long term.

For existing subscribers, prices will remain unchanged for as long as their current plans or contracts are active. Both SIMBA and M1 have committed to maintaining this for at least two years after the consolidation.

For new subscribers, SIMBA and M1 will continue to offer their highly popular S$10 and S$12 mobile plans for a minimum of two years post-consolidation, ensuring mobile services remain affordable and accessible.

For M1’s MVNO subscribers, all existing commitments and contracts will be fully honoured. Commercial arrangements with M1’s MVNO partners remain unchanged, with the same service standards maintained. Furthermore, both SIMBA and M1 will continue to support any new MVNOs entering the market under the IMDA Wholesale Framework.

Network Integration and Spectrum Efficiency

Both SIMBA and M1 currently operate numerous antenna sites across Singapore. After consolidation, subscribers will benefit from expanded coverage, as both networks’ sites will be shared.

A key priority will be to combine their 900MHz spectrum—a valuable band for wider coverage and stronger indoor signal penetration—where technically possible. It will give the combined a 15 Mhz (3 lots of Band 8). No mention of 1800 MHz (M1), 2600 MHz (M1) and 2300 MHz (SIMBA) will be shared.

There will be no changes to how SIMBA and M1 deploy or operate their 5G networks, and both will continue to meet all IMDA regulatory obligations. It is not known if 5G(SA) on n78 band will be made available to SIMBA customers.

Customer Support and Retail Experience

Once operations are streamlined, subscribers from both brands will be able to receive customer support at either SIMBA or M1 outlets. Together, the two brands have over 20 shopfronts and service centres islandwide, providing more touchpoints for customers.

M1’s long-standing commitment to high-quality service and retail experience will continue to be upheld, ensuring a smooth transition for all subscribers.
