Conclusion

The Xperia S is simply a piece of art. Whenever I bring it for picture taking, friends around me would want to try out this new product in the Xperia NXT series. Having a large screen is definitely a plus for the Xperia S phone as it makes surfing the net a much better experience. That is especially with the High-resolution 342ppi screen.

When we first tested the phone, the emphasis is on the camera. Day shots looks fantastic but night shots under dim light didn’t turn out to be better than the Xperia Arc. I also noticed a reddish-magenta colour bias in the pictures we took. This of course can be corrected through software. I do like the fast response of 1.5secs to wake up for photo shoot.

It seems that there is a trend of using MicroSim card slot since Apple introduced it on their iPhone 4S. In fact, I don’t see saving much space. The integrated battery might also be a big turn off for some as you can’t just replace the battery without voiding the warranty. There is also no MicroSD card slot on the phone.

As for the battery life, the phone just last us for 1 day of use. We anticipate the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade will definitely patch and update to make the phone better.

Pros :

High resolution 342ppi screen, instant

Cons:

Integrated battery, microSIM card, no microSD slot, Android 2.3.7

We give it our Silver award with a score of 8/10
