Singapore’s Mediacorp TV has started transmission in Digital starting with 4 channels – 5, 8, Suria and Vasantham in High Definition over the air. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to receive the digital broadcast. The initial launch phase is in Bukit Batok.

The roll out will be gradual starting from Bukit Batok in Dec 2013. The yellow zones will be next in 1Q 2014 and full deployment will be completed by 2016.

At the mean time, if you subscribe to Singtel Mio TV or Starhub TV cable service, you are already receiving the signal in Digital. It is just that you are not receiving the channel 8, Suria and Vansantham in High Definition. It is not known when the two pay TV operators will relay the HD signals of these channels.

The set top box by Draco is selling at S$129 at retail stores.
