Photos can be taken in AI mode which automatically detects the scene and set it to respective scene enhancements. It also detects and enable night mode when taking pictures in dim lighting.
Here are some photos we took after sunset.
Night mode
Kudos to the Xiaomi camera software the the IMX 707 sensor, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is crazily good at taking night shots even in totally dark environments. Below are two example.

SuperMoon mode
In camera settings, there is a SuperMoon mode which basically is a 20X digital zoom with environment brightness lowered. It is a simpler way to shoot the moon.
