According to reports from upstream supply chain, both Microsoft 2nd generation Surface and new Android based tablets sales might be affected by the upcoming launch of the new generation iPad and iPad mini. This is to be expected as existing models pricing will be lowered and it will appeal to some users who are not to eager to get the latest generation.

The current Apple iPad Mini MD531LL/A (16GB, Wi-Fi, White / Silver) which is slated to be priced at USD 329 and the retina version at USD 499. The new range should also be priced at these levels. Microsoft’s Surface 2 series tablets sales will be most likely be affected by it’s high price tag of Surface Pro 2 starting USD 899 and the Surface 2 is priced at USD449.

As for the Android camp, there is a large variety to choose from with Sony Xperia Z SGP311U1/B 10.1-Inch 16GB Tablet  on it’s higher price tag while the Kindle Fire HD 7″, HD Display, Wi-Fi, 8 GB – Includes Special Offers  should appeal to most at USD 214.
