SiSoft Sandra 2011 Benchmarks

In SiSoft Sandra 2011, we test out the memory benchmarks, arithmedia, multimedia performance and the media transcoding index. The P55 system that we used is running a BCLK of 133 with CPU running at 3.33GHz on Core i5-661 processor. The P67 systems both run the same Core i5-2500K processor which has an unlocked multiplier.

In the first test, we check out the memory bandwidth of the new chipset and processor versus the older P55 with Core i5-661. As the board is capable of supporting up to DDR3-2133, the performance would be faster as the P55 limitation is DDR3-1333 at default CPU CLK.

As we can see from the chart below, the P55 only achieves 11.81GB/s with the same 2GB X2 DDR3 memory module running at DDR3-1333 C7-8-7-20-1T whereas the P67 boards are running 2x2GB DDR3-1866 at C7-8-7-20-1T. Both P67 boards are able to achieve around 25 GB/s which is pretty shy of 5GB/s to Intel X58 systems (tri channel). The ASRock P67 FATAL1TY board has a slightly better bandwidth than the ASUS P8P67Pro.

Now let’s take a look at the Arithmetic processing and Multimedia processor power of the new platform vs the P55.

Both the P55 and P67 platforms have processors running at approximately the same speed of 3.3GHz and 3.33GHz. It looks like there isn’t much of a change in the arithmetic speed. All the three boards scored around the 59  GOPS.

When it comes to Multimedia, As we can see the score of the ASRock P67 FATAL1TY P67 board is at least 15 Mpix/s faster than the ASRock P55 Deluxe giving it a 35% improvement in multimedia applications.

The Core i5-2500K is pretty fast in encoding from WMV->H.264 and H.264->H.264 conversion in the Sandra 2011 test. As we can see the speed is almost 61.9% faster than the Core i5-661/P55 platform.

  1. When I looked at Fatal1ty P67 Professional board, I thod it was nothing special. Seeing it had SmartView for IE, I KNEW it was nothing special. Just some lame mobo with OC’d price.

And you listed smartview as a “useful feature”? Omfg, if ya want to OC anything, you dont want to waste the extra speed on crappy programs where there are way better ones available for free. The first thing ya do with vanilla windows is uninstall IE and install FF or GC instead. Then maybe disable some useless processes. But for fcks sake, SmartView is the most useless feature there is. Any mobo that comes with it just cant be made by professionals.

Besides, there are a lot better 1155 mobos that cost less than Fatal1ty P67 Professional.
