Apple Daily reported that on 7 Sept, ASUS received an internal notice that there will an reorganisation with the first wave of axing on the 14th Sept 2018 and the second batch on the 25th Sept 2018.

It is reported that ASUS has been actively exploring the smart phone market but is to late to cut a pie in the competitive market which is held by China brands OPPO, VIVO, HUAWEI, Xiaomi etc.

In 2018, ASUS targeted a sales of 20 million and for 2019, it downgrade it to 12 million. The industry experts believe that the main reason for the downgrade could be due to the difficulty penetrating the markets held by China brands in developing countries.
