The enclosure
The picture below shows the type C connector cable. On the other end is the normal Type A connector. The Type C connector is reversible, thus you can plug it either way.

connector port.
On the next page are some test results provided by ASUS, pairing up the device with their On board (X99), PCIe slot on PCH and PCIe on CPU.
