Board Layout
The board spots 3 full length PCIe 3.0 slots, 4 DIMM slots, 2 x 8 pin AUX power, one 24 pin power. There is also Power on/off, clearcmos switches on the extreme bottom left of the board.
The left most is the audio chipset covered with a BIOSTAR metal plate. It is a Realtek audio chip ALC898. To the right are Realtek chipset for GbE RTL8111E.
Over here we see the upper 2 DIMM slots with a 4 pin GPU AUX power and an 8 pin PSU ATX 8 pin (top right corner). There a couple of chipsets and they include ASMedia ASM1042 USB 3.0 controller.
On the bottom corner of the board, we see the socket 2011 with connectors for CPU FAN. The 24 pin power connector is located at the bottom of the PCB and another 8 pin AUX is found on the right hand bottom corner of the board
On the left bottom of the mainboard are the power switch, reset and clear cmos switch. There is also a debug led. There are also 7 SATA connectors supported by both X79 chipset + ASmedia.
The back panel consists of USB 3.0 ports, SPDIF out, Keyboard out, eSATA, GbE and audio ports.
