SiSoft Sandra 2011 benchmarks
In our test, we use an Intel Core i7 3960X ES 3.3GHz paired up with 4 x 2 GB DDR3-2400 Kingston KHX2400C11D3K4/8GX at C11-13-11-30-2T. The graphics card is a ASUS Radeon HD 7970 at 1GHz clk.
The memory module supports 2 XMP profile, one at DDR3-2400 and the other is at DDR3-2133. Setting it to DDR3-2400 requires some minor voltage tweaks to the voltage options available in the BIOS, otherwise the system wouldn’t POST. By bumping a tiny bit of voltage, DDR3-2400 is stable at both 3.3GHz and 4.5GHz.
In the following charts, we test the processor at it’s default speed and overclocked it to 4.5GHz on AIR. First we start off with memory benchmarks followed by Arithmetic, multimedia and media trascode speed test.
As we used a different graphics card and ram modules, we can only do not do a direct comparison with other X79 boards. If you are interested to see how they perform, you can cross reference to this link for the performance of MSI X79A-GD45 vs Gigabyte X79-UD7 .
In terms of memory performance running quad sticks of Kingston DDR3-2400. The memory scores 44.31 MB/s and 46.8MB/s respectively in standard and overclocked mode.
In Processor Arithmetic, the scores didn’t differ much from the two other boards. The score is 144.16 GOPS. When overclocked to 4.5GHz, it shoots up to 162.6 GOPS.
Processor Multimedia gave a score of 323.84 Mpix/s which is higher than the two other boards as the environment is very different from the two other boards.
In Transcoding, the results are generally the same, scoring 1MB/s and 1.17MB/s in overclocked state.
