Maxis Bhd has joined hands with China Mobile International (CMI) to roll out CMLink, the latter’s mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) brand, in Malaysia. The launch was announced at the 2025 China Mobile SEA Cooperation Conference in Kuala Lumpur on Aug 13, officiated by China Mobile executive vice-president Li Huidi and Maxis chief executive Goh Seow Eng.
Hosted on Maxis’ 4G and 5G infrastructure, the service offers China-Malaysia mobile data sharing and a “one card, multiple numbers” (1CMN) feature. The package is targeted at students and professionals who move frequently between the two countries.
CMLink’s entry into Malaysia extends its footprint beyond existing markets such as the UK, Singapore, Japan, Thailand and Italy. In Singapore, China Mobile already operates CMLink as an MVNO on Singtel’s network.
