If you are a Circles.Life user and have successfully applied for the trial, you would be able to connect to M1’s 5G NSA network for the month till September.

It is important to note that NSA network is not available in many parts of Singapore as M1 is expanding it’s SA network instead. We have done a test before and here are our initial results.

The following areas will have 5G NSA signal if you are using a compatiable handset*. The coverage areas are also quite limited to HDB town centres.

  • Central/Downtown
  • West: NUS, Dover, Boon Lay, Jurong East, Clementi
  • North-West: Bukit Batok
  • North-East: Bishan, Serangoon, Hougang
  • East: Paya Lebar, Bedok, Simei, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Changi Airport, Geylang Serai, Kembangan

Current devices which support 5G are Samsung Galaxy Note20 5G, Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, Samsung Z Galaxy Fold2 5G, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy A42 5G, Huawei P40 Pro 5G, Mi 10T/10T Pro 5G and iPhone 12/iPhone 12Pro.

The speed will not be fantastic, it should be around 100+ to 250+ Mbps, not really a big difference from what you get from running it is 4G+.

If you are interested in helping everyone to identify which areas are 5G covered, you can download the nperf.com app from app store and turn on active mapping. Here is a map of M1 5G NSA/SA coverage.

Purplish shades indicate areas of 5G NSA or SA coverage using nperf software
