Thunderbolt 2 Turbo vNAS TVS-871T optimizes high-speed and flexible connectivity
QNAP TVS-871T, the world’s first DAS/NAS/iSCSI SAN triple solution, features the incredible power of Thunderbolt 2 and enables simultaneous 4K video transfer and display. Featuring Thunderbolt and Ethernet dual network, the TVS-871T allows users to flexibly share files across multiple devices simultaneously.
With two Thunderbolt 2 ports available on the TVS-871T, users can flexibly arrange the connection of their computer workstations with the TVS-871T and its storage expansion enclosures based on their needs and benefit from high accessibility, optimal collaboration and seamless expansion. The TVS-871T is also a perfect match for Thunderbolt-equipped Mac users for 4K workflow, file storage and backup.
“Currently-available Thunderbolt storage solutions are direct attached storage, which lacks the flexibility for file sharing,” said David Tsao, product manager of QNAP, adding “the QNAP TVS-871T Thunderbolt NAS also features optional 10GbE network expansion, providing multiple options for high-speed storage and file sharing across multiple devices on a single device, and is ideal for Mac users and video editing professionals.”
QNAP’s latest Thunderbolt storage solution was demonstrated with Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD. The Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD is offering up to 6TB capacity, is designed to perform at high levels even under demanding workloads and in environments that call for global availability and 24×7 accessibility. The Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD is also supported by Seagate’s own Rescue Data Recovery plans, built into optional SKUs for the extra peace of mind.
“We’re pleased to collaborate with QNAP to provide business users and professionals with complete, reliable and scalable NAS solutions that meet their pressing needs. The Seagate Enterprise NAS HDD is tailored for small and medium sized-businesses who seek to optimize their computing for performance and reliability using NAS systems,” said Vic Huang, country manager of Taiwan, Seagate Technology. “With the high capacity Seagate Enterprise NAS HDDs, QNAP Thunderbolt NAS offers a high-performance, flexible and cost-effective NAS solution that is also ideal for 4K video support.”
Qsirch: QNAP’s unique, powerful, Google Search-like search tool
Qsirch performs as a powerful full-text search tool that helps users find specific files, including documents, movies, songs or photos, on the QNAP NAS easily. By using the TF-IDF algorithm, users can search while typing and identify files easily with categories, thumbnail preview and list view. Qsirch effectively increases productivity and work efficiency for file searching.
TS-563 Turbo NAS features 10GbE-readiness with a competitive price
The newly-announced 5-bay TS-563 is powered by an AMD 64-bit quad-core 2.0GHz SoC processor and up to 16GB RAM, featuring AES-NI hardware-accelerated encryption, SSD cache acceleration, AMD-V™ technology for running Windows/Linux/Android on the NAS, optional 10GbE connectivity, and scalable storage expansion. Available at a budget price, the TS-563 allows small and medium businesses to build private clouds suitable for high-speed networks and application-intensive environments with maximized ROI.
Virtualization Station and Container Station introduce a hybrid approach to virtualization
QNAP Virtualization Station enables virtualized desktop operations on the QNAP NAS for managing multiple virtual machines. The upgraded Virtualization Station 2.0 adopts the software-defined networking (SDN) concept and brings greater benefits of flexible networking, cost efficiency and unlimited potential for a wider application scenario.
QNAP Container Station integrates LXC and Docker lightweight virtualization methods, allowing users to operate multiple isolated Linux systems on a QNAP NAS as well as download apps from the built-in Docker Hub Registry.
QTS 4.2 streamlines UI design and enhances home/business features
QTS 4.2 introduces a new interface design for its desktop, Storage Manager, and multiple other applications for an improved user experience while adding new features including volume snapshot, snapshot replication, VM backup & restore, JBOD enclosure roaming, backup versioning, encrypting shared folders, and enhanced network security.
File Station adds integration with cloud services and allows users to view files with Office Online and Google Docs or to directly open them with a Google Chrome office extension; Photo Station provides an excellent browsing experience with gallery mode, moveable control menu bar, enhanced sharing mechanisms, and more.
Multi-zone multimedia streaming & HD Station 3.0
QTS 4.2 further empowers the QNAP NAS to be a multi-zone multimedia system which allows users to centrally control media streaming to different corners of their home using a single device. Supported protocols/services include DLNA, AirPlay, Chromecast, Bluetooth and USB devices for media streaming, and members in different zones at home can enjoy the convenience and simplicity for home entertainment and multimedia storage.
HybridDesk Station 3.0 (HD Station) has been updated to 64-bit and also adds multitasking, and multilingual keyboard and input support. Several useful apps such as Skype, Libre Office, Plex Home Theater, and more have also been added to provide users an enhanced multimedia experience and increased work productivity.
