Prior to SIMBA’s official announcement of its 5G roaming service overseas, we had the opportunity to experience roaming on Digi’s 5G network right after clearing immigration at the Sultan Iskandar Building.

The network we connected to was Digi 5G, powered by DNB of Malaysia. We received a strong signal at -87 dBm, utilizing Band 28 (700 MHz) as anchor and connected to n78 band. The 5G spectrum allocated was 100 MHz on the n78 band, commonly used in a 5G NSA setup.

However, the speedtest result did not yield exceptional performance. Download speeds appeared to be capped at approximately 200 Mbps, while the uplink speed reached almost 100 Mbps.
