Conclusion
I like the compact and lightweight of the DJI OSMO Nano. With it’s internal memory storage, you can get it up and running within minutes. Even if the battery is flat, you can get it charged to 80% within 20 minutes or used with the Multifunctional Vision Dock to get a extended hours of recording. Unfortunately, the battery cannot be removed and can only be charged via the mltifunctional vision dock.
Based on the status bar info, with the Multivision dock attached, it can record up to 3 hrs 30 minutes in 4K/50 fps Wide Angle.
As for video recording, it works pretty well in both the day and in low light environments for vlogging. The flexibility of magenetically mounting it onto metal surfaces makes it very versatile in capturing different angles. e.g. filming yourself removing an orange from your fridge.
With it’s support of 4K with multiple frame rate for different regions or your projects, you will be able to combine footages shot with your other cameras and combine them together with ease. e.g. the original film is shot in 50 fps and OMSO Nano is able to record in 50 fps, so no loss of frames during the final production.
The DJI MIMO app is now able to edit the videos recorded on the OSMO Nano directly. over WIFI. File transfers are very fast at almost 90 MB/s. Basically, you can use the MIMO app to do quick edits and post your content easily. I would usually back up my video files into my microSD card to free up size on the storage.
In Conclusion, the DJI OSMO Nano has it’s special place in the array of DJI products. It can be regarded as an action camera but it uses a non removable battery. The small size and magenetic modular design allows it to be mounted on metal surfaces anyway and the recording be monitored remotely via the multifunctional vision dock or through the mimo app.
