Motherboard Layout
The motherboard is a full ATX board with two full length PCIe 2.0 slots (one at 16x, the other at 8x), 3 PCIe x1 and 2 PCI slots. The board supports CrossFireX with 2 graphics cards or Dual Graphics with the embedded graphics inside the APU.
On the left rear of the motherboard, you will see the various chipsets responsible for providing the features of the board. We can see from the picture the VIA 1394 controller, the GbE Phy from Realtek, a change to EtronTechUSB3.0 from the usual NEC.
Further to the right, we can see the AUX, heatsink on the mosfets. One thing I love about AMD is that we can re use our old heatsink without any issues.
Below the socket are 4 DIMM slots supporting up to DDR3-1866 (OC). A total of 32GB is supported. To it’s left is the IO controller chip with A75 chipset underneath the attached heatsink. This single chipset supports native 6x SATA 6Gbps with RAID 0,1,10, JBOD. It also supports up to 10 USB2.0 (2 ports on the back and 8 ports thru internal USB headers). The 4 x USB 3.0 ports are supported by the EtronTech chipset.
The back panel consists of a PS/2 keyboard/mouse port, 2 USB 3.0 (Blue) , 1 D-SUB, 1 DVI-D, 1 SPDIF Optical out, HDMI, Displayport, USB 2.0 ports (Yellow), 1394, eSATA 6Gbps port, 1 GbE LAN, 2 USB 3.0 ports (Blue)
