My friends have been praising the Pixel 3 XL shots that I took. This are impressed by the night shots but was turned away by the high price of owning a Pixel 3 device.
Today, Google launches two new midrange models, a 5.6″ and a 6″ version of the same phone with a mid range processor – Snapdragon 670. It maintains a f/1.8 12.2 MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. It supports Night Sight and will take excellent night views. There is no wide angle selfie cam is removed on the Pixel 3a.
Although we have a mid range processor, the two phones seem to have a better battery rating at 3000 mAh for the Pixel 3a and 3700 mAh for the Pixel 3a XL. The original Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL were rated 2915 mAh and 3430 mAh.
The Pixel 3a and 3a XL also removed the wireless charging function and added in a phone jack. The new models also do not have any IP rating.
The Google Pixel 3a lets you take stunning photos using HDR+, potrait mode, Super Res Zoom, Night Sight. Pixel 3a is launching with Time Lapse feature. which is first in the pixel line to have that. The best thing is that you can save them in high quality with free unlimited storage. It also charges up to 7 hours with a quick 15 minute charge. It can last 30 hours with a full charge.
Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be first to preview the new AR in Google Maps. You can see be able to see walking directions overlaid on the world itself rather than looking at a blue dot on the map.
As Pixel 3a and 3a XL looks like a cheaper edition of the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, they share the same problems. We asked Google about VoLTE support, their response is that VoLTE support for Singapore carriers is still a work in progress. Secondly, Pixel 3a or 3a XL only has one Physical SIM slot. Although we can get e-SIM to work in Android Q beta2 using Pixel 3 XL, we can’t be sure of such a feature will be formerly supported by the telcos here.
The two new devices are available at Singtel, COURTS, Challenger and Google Store.
