You probably have read the news about the new Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G). This time round, the Pixel duo won’t make it’s way to the Singapore market. We suspect that it could because our 5G network is not launched yet.
The duo will launch in Taiwan and Japan in Asia and in Australia in this part of the world.
If you are eager to get hold of the set, you can try and purchase it through third party stores or through friends living there.
The Pixel 5 is priced at A$999 (~SGD 977. The Pixel 4a (5G) will be priced around at A$799 (~ SGD 781). Australian to Singapore exchange rate A$1=S$0.9783
Take note that there are variants of the handsets for different regions. The TW version may work with the NR bands here but the AU version [Model G025I] seems more likely to support the bands that are to be used in Singapore.
One thing to note is that, will telcos only provision hand sets that are sold from their telco outlets or region. If that is the case, you will end up with a 4G phone with no access to the 5G services (SA/NSA) from the local telcos.
The best bet is to wait for the local Google Store to carry it as they will be surely compatible with the network.
