The Pixel 5 just like the Pixel 3 and 4 is IP68 certified> It will reportedly offer a 6-inch FHD+ ( 1080 x 2340 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 432ppi. The flexible OLED panel is covered by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 6, comes with HDR certification and offers 24-bit color depth.

Central to the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon midranger 765G SoC and not a 800 series processor. The phone will come with 8GB of RAM + 128 GB of on board storage. There are no external storage slots. The phone also sports a SIM slot and eSIM on dual standby probably in 4G and 5G at a time.

The back camera will come standard with the 12.2MP primary camera with an f/1.7 aperture with EIS and OIS support. It supports 4K video at 60 fps and 1080p slow motion videos at 240 fps. The other sensor is a 16 megapixel with 107 degree wide view. There is no optical zoom as Pixel still prefers to use it’s digital zoom – SuperRes.

A larger battery is installed on the Pixle 5. We should be expecting a 4,500 mAh battery and it can be charged at 18W while competitors have already achieve 65W and above.

Something new with Pixel 5 is that it supports reverse charging.

It is not known which 5G bands are supported but we predict that the standard NR bands of n1 (2100), n3 (1800), n5 (850) n7 (2600), n8 (900), n38 (2600), n40 (2300), n41 (2500), n77 (3700), n78 (3500). *

There is also a rumoured 5s model which might be specific for the US market that supports the mmwave bands n258 (26 GHz), n260 (39 GHz), n261 (28 GHz).

The Pixel 5 shoudl be priced around €629 (~ $735) and will be available in green and black colours.
